Where to eat and drink...

Obviously the gite provides full catering facilities as well as the barbecue, however, you may wish to enjoy a meal out. Once you have sampled the food at "Le Pacific", why not venture further afield into one of the small towns nearby?

Cleder is about 3km from the cottage and has a number of restaurants providing a varied range of menus from pizza to a-la-carte. There are shops, a post office, butchers, supermarkets, bakers and bars - on Friday nights, you can often buy takeaway pizzas in the square. I know of at least 12 good restaurants within a 3 mile radius - all the details and telephone numbers are in the house.

If you don’t speak any or much French, don’t let that worry you! Many friends of mine, who are non French speakers, have had their holidays in the gite and have never had any problems  whatsoever; in fact it makes it fun. Also, my telephone number is in the house so if you have any problems or have any worries or just want to book a restaurant, just give me a ring and I will sort it out for you.

Approximately 3km from the house, in the other direction, is the small town of Plouescat where you will find many more bars and restaurants and also bakers, patisserie, chemist, butchers and gift shops.

In the centre of the town is the very impressive medieval wooden market hall (have a look in the Gallery page) which can be found in the market square. If you need provisions, the supermarket should be able to help and if you're feeling lucky, have a go in the local casino!

As with most European towns and cities, there are many cafes and restaurants with plenty of space outside to enjoy a glass of wine or beer and a some food while basking in the warm sun and just generally watching the World go peaceful and relaxing?
